The Space SIG is investigating technical challenges surrounding the commercial development of energy sources on the Moon.  In particular, the SIG is preparing a technical report exploring the feasibility of a NASA-led technology demonstration plant, capable of delivering 1 GW to the surface of the Earth, thus reducing the development risk for expanded commercial development.  This study involves conceptual design and mission architecture development for such a power plant and associated spacecraft systems.  The project will also attempt to construct a small scale (table top) power beaming demonstration unit.
